Edit rights
« on: September 09, 2011, 07:19:37 AM »
Hi,
I can not set up permissions for edit content. I have a user with edit rights, he can create a content in a folder, but after he creates the content, he can not edit this content. I think, I have tried all possibilities in folder and user settings, but without success...
Any help?
Thanks, TF

Hi,

1. Is it possible that you use inherit permissions on a higher node in the tree?
2. Is it possible that you could give me a dump of your database so that i could reproduce it?
or describe all settings a little bit more.

regards,
Frank

Perfect help - number 1.
I used inherit permissions on a higher node. When I turned it off, new added content is editable...

The truth is, that I don´t fully understand the system of inherited permissions...

Thanks, TF

Hi,

inhert permission is a technique to set defined rights on new created content/pages.

For example. You have an area for public use or a restricted group and you want to have the same defined rights on all elements in this area. So inherit permissions is your friend.

Hope this helps.
