In another program that uses FCKEditor 2.3.1 (KBPublisher), the texts are stored in a MySQL DB.
When i want to modify a text containing backslashes, the editor removes them (so impossible to store UNC paths for example).
In your application, it works well (i tried in the demo). Did you do something special to prevent it from stripping backslashes (\) ?

Thank U.

Yes, i will do that.
The 'move page' feature under WAMP produces this problem. But under LAMP, it is OK. So this is OK for me :-)
Thanx. Emmanuel.

Knowledgeroot / Rights in KnowledgeRoot

I have many difficulties with the rights management.
Basically, i would like to have a group "EDIT" with users who can R+W (not admin) on part or all the tree AND a group "VIEW" with users who can only Read this same subtree.
I don't know how to do it, since i can only give rights for owner user, group owner and others per file.
I guess, a few examples of different possibilities would be welcome.
Hope it is not to much work.

In the windows that appears to move a page, i see extra text : "close(); ?>".

Although, i've read the pages in and how rights on files are managed in linux, i can't figure out how to manage the rights on articles.

By the way, about the encoding, i can use ISO-8859-1 and it is fine for me.

Thank you. Emmanuel.

With the RC2, i can no more use the upload of image functionality of fckeditor.
I followed exactly the guidelines of installation (created folder "uploads", chown -R www-data uploads). Even with the previous fckconfig.js you graciously sent me a couple of weeks ago.
I can't create any folder neither.

About the encoding:

Yes, the charset encoding is left untouched (utf8) in my config file.

* in IE, it is good, no encoding problem when setting is : automatic detection (in this case, it is set to "western europe (windows)" and not "unicode (utf-8)", strange isn't it ?)

* in Firefox, it is not good : With automatic detection, it is set to "unicode (utf-8)". The static labels from language file are bad when accentuation or cedilla.

And when i create a page in FF, label with accentuation is good in the tree. Then i go back to IE and see the label bad.

Do you also have "western europe (windows)" in IE ?

By the way, i'm under WAMP.
Thank you.

Knowledgeroot / Where can i download the dev tarball ?
« on: July 11, 2006, 08:29:57 AM »

I have seen that the bug tracker and the files of the development version is here :

But is there a way to download the whole files in a tarball or something ?
Thank you.

I'm a bit afraid to ask but for the next version of KnowledgeRoot, is it a matter of days, weeks of months ?
The demo whets my appetite, you see. Especially the hide/show menu feature useful for small screens.
I've just seen that the fckeditor 2.3 is out and that it has a full screen-mode, that's great. I'll try to change the files concerning the editor to get this functionality to work.

Great Job you're doing. Thank you.

Yes, thank you.

Knowledgeroot / How to enable Upload of images in FCKEditor ?
« on: June 08, 2006, 10:49:02 AM »

I've installed this great Application on my Debian Sarge system (php, apache2).
But i don't know which files to tweak to get the upload of images functionality to work. :-(
I think that by default, the fckeditor files in KnowledgeRoot are configured for ASP.
I have also explicitly enabled the upload (disabled for security sakes) in the config file.

If someone has succeeded in implementing it, let me know how please.

Thank you very much.
Emmanuel (Icemanu).
