Does the knowledgeroot has this kind of feature..
« on: February 16, 2010, 07:16:35 AM »
I'm an ojt trainee and my supervisor is asking me to search some opensource DMS, so I use the knowledgeroot as a DMS. My supervisor got OK to this DMS. But he's asking me if knowledgeroot has a feature of when a picture was scanned, it will directly be uploaded to the assigned content of a knowledgeroot. Like in windows when you scan a picture you can assigned on what folder will the picture be saved. Does knowledgeroot has this kind of feature? =D

THX alot knowledgeroot team! =D

Hi,

i think you need some other service to implement this.
Knowledgeroot is not DMS as i think but you could do the following:
You could share the upload folder per webdav, samba share or ftp or something else. So if you scan something you could save that file in this share.
So if you use the fckeditor you could use the image plugin to select that image for the content.

I hope this helps.
Frank

thx Frank!! now i know.. but How will I do it? hmm, im using windows as my platform so I think I will be using FTP.. And what do you mean by Image Plugin in fck editor? sorry for not knowing it well. Hmm, this is what I thought of.. once I have ftp, I can now share files/folders, while in the fckeditor there would be an image plugin wherein when I click it, it would be prompted to a shared folder? is this right? or wrong?.. thxx for a quick reply..
